Principal’s Message – Alisa Hsiao
Dear SVCS Teachers, Parents and Students,
As you may know we will start the enrollment of SVCS’s annual academic contest this Friday, November 18.
SVCS’s academic contest is a great way for the students to demonstrate their talents in various categories. All the vice class representatives are invited to the enrollment meeting this Friday, and SVCS Academic Contest Team will disclose all the details of the contest held on February ,2017. Please note that there will be separate sessions for Chinese heritage (starting 7:10pm) and CSL (starting 8:10pm) classes.
SVCS offers a wide variety of academic contests and encourages all students to participate in these events. The family will earn one service point when enrolling each kid for the contest regardless of the number of categories. Not to mention, each participant will receive a gift after completing the contest.
In March, the winners in each category will represent SVCS and compete in the academic contests hosted by ANCCS (Association of Northern California Chinese School). With the free training sessions generously offered by our teachers, I expect they will continue to prevail in the next ANCCS academic contest.
You all may have received the notice from the Activity Team that details the enrollment of the “Little Host/Hostess” audition for SVCS Chinese New Year Celebration on March 5, 2017. The audition is scheduled at 9 pm on December 2, 2016 at Room 72. I’d like to encourage your kid(s) to participate in this rewarding program,
which provides them great opportunities to perfect their Mandarin before hosting the exciting show. The selected applicants will be trained by our teachers on a weekly basis, free of charge! This is an experience you wouldn’t want to miss, since the entire program is so beneficial!
Thanksgiving is just around the corner. In observance of the holiday, we will not have school on November 25.
Wish you all a joyous and blessed Thanksgiving!
