Pick Up America (PUA)

Three years ago, a group of young people with environmental protection ideals started a project called “Pick Up America (PUA)”, which attracted attentions of environmental protection organizations around the United States.

This group of youth is full of creativity. They modified an old school bus to run on recycled vegetable oil as fuel as their primary vehicle to travel from the East-Coast to the West-Coats. Starting 2010, they have cleaned approximately 3,500 miles of road, picking up approximately 200,000 pounds of trash. This project attracted many local volunteers to involve in their project along the way, educating people to protect our environment. The determination of these young people is truly inspiring.
